Bush N Vine Farm

Bush N Vine Farm in York SC has been a family farm for over 150years. Every Fall Bush N Vine celebrates Fall Farm Fun weekends starting Saturday September 30th. Entertainment includes Live Music, food trucks, hayrides to the pumpkin patch, kids’ bounce house and more! Take a hike on the walking trail or visit the corn maze. Be sure to check the website and schedule for details on what activities are being offered each week. Bush N Vine also offers a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program for those interested in receiving fresh fruits and vegetables year-round!

The Peach Tree Orchard

For pumpkin pickers interested in a slightly smaller, intimate setting try The Peach Tree, just up the road (North) from Bush N Vine. The Peach Tree features a pumpkin patch of pre-picked pumpkins. They range in size from small to 150+ pounds, as well as a lot of different decorative pumpkins. There is a miniature straw maze for younger kids. The ice cream parlor features a limited edition (and very popular!) caramel pumpkin pie milkshake. Visitors can also find a wide selection of fresh mountain apples, gourmet caramel apples, fritters, apple cider, candy and much more.

A love of apple cider and the desire for a family-focused lifestyle caused Fritz and Catherine Gusmer to open Windy Hill Orchard in York SC decades ago. Windy Hill Orchard is well known for their apple harvest season ~ Windy Hill’s 24th Annual Apple Harvest Festival takes place Saturday October 21st and will sell out, get tickets now ~ However, Windy Hill Orchard is also a great option for pumpkin pickers! Activities such as hard apple cider tastings, live music, hayrides and pumpkin picking are sure to please visitors of all ages.

Lineberger’s Maple Springs Farm

Extremely family-friendly and a popular destination for school field trips, Lineberger’s Maple Springs Farm in northern Gaston County is a bit of a trek from the Lake Wylie area, but we think it’s well worth it! Playgrounds, trails and educational exhibits are always open, but the most popular time of the year is certainly Fall when a variety of different activities are happening – visit the wooden maze, corn crib, and straw bale mountains. Fun fact: Lineberger’s grows over 100 different varieties of pumpkins and gourds!
Visitors say: “Fun for the whole family! The play areas are very nice and we loved the new musical area addition this year. The big slides are always a hit with my son and he’s still talking about feeding the chicks and ducks a week later! We also got some great pictures by the giant pumpkins next to the ‘Chick Inn’. Lewis Farm in Gaston County NC is a 5th generation working farm which encourages visitors to reconnect to the past through popular farming practices of the 1930s and 1940s. Lewis Farm routinely hosts special events including weddings and birthdays. However, the fall season is their most popular time of the year. In addition to the pumpkin patch, visitors and kids enjoy hay rides, pony rides and much more! The majority of activities at Lewis Farm are included in the modest admission fee.

Hall Family Farm

Hall Family Farm has a rich history in South Charlotte. First established as a cotton farm in the 1920s, the farm reopened in 2008 as a pick-your-own strawberry and agri-tourist farm. Located in the Ballantyne community, the Hall Family Farm is easily accessible to most Lake Wylie area residents and well worth the visit. A five acre corn maze, musical hayrides and yummy funnel cakes are the highlights of this particular pumpkin patch location. The farm even stays open for night-time adventures in the corn maze! This year’s corn maze theme is “Space – the Final Frontier”.
Visitors say: “Went to Hall Family Farm yesterday for some fall fun. We did the musical hayride, the corn maze, and pick some pumpkins. The musical hayride as well as the corn maze were very well thought out adventures, with the sites you’re seeing matching with the music. All the pumpkins were great picks, looking healthy. And at 59¢ per lbs I only spent $15 and got 3 great looking ones. Also a loaf of cinnamon bread for the road tastes amazing!! Would definitely return. Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill SC remains a favorite Lake Wylie area park for ALL seasons. This year marks the Greenway’s 7th annual Fall Frolic held weekends starting September 30th. With lots of activities and attractions for families and kids of all ages, the Greenway is, as always, sure to please. While the standard Greenway admission fees apply – along with additional fees for pony rides – it’s hard to argue for a more beautiful setting to enjoy pumpkin picking this season.

ASCG has awesome trails, it fits all kind of activities that goes from hiking to mountain biking. The Fall Frolic event is always a wonderful time. Our kids loved the pony rides and cow train.
