Lake Wylie Children’s Charity hosted their 2016 benefit concert event at T-Bones on Lake Wylie this past weekend. It was a fantastic day – gorgeous weather and plenty of sunshine.
There were lots of activities, games and attractions on hand for attendees of all ages. Adults lounged in lawn chairs in front of the concert stage watching a variety of bands. Meanwhile visitors enjoyed carnival games, a silent auction and other entertainment. A big hit with the kids was the inflatable water balls and bounce houses.
The founding members of Lake Wylie Children’s Charity first hosted a charity concert in 2002. The concert was the group’s original yearly event. The charity now includes a golf tournament and two poker runs throughout the year as well. Although this year’s concert was held in October due to a conflicting Carolina Panther’s schedule, the organization tries to host the concert each year in September. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
