Berewick’s name is a nod to the area’s early Scottish settlers. Years ago these first arrivals settled in the local Steele Creek region of Southwest Charlotte. A Berewick is literally a “Barley Village” or more commonly a farmland or outlying estate. No longer. With Steele Creek’s immense growth in recent years Berewick has quickly gained popularity and increased growth.
Berewick boasts immediate access to Highway 485 just minutes from Uptown Charlotte and the airport. With the development of adjacent Charlotte Premium Outlets and the Berewick town center, Berewick is far from being a farmland or outlying estate.
Created by esteemed local developer, Pappas Properties, Berewick offers affordable townhome and single family living options among it’s various sections or “villages”. Villages are often divided according to builder and construction designs.
What We Love
Terrific location. An active home owners association promotes various community events and activities for residents. Overall very friendly neighborhood.
What We Don’t
Local building construction makes for noise and congestion at times. With the recently proposed Charlotte River District nearby, residents will most likely continue to encounter these growing pains.
Traditional style single family and townhome options on quarter acre(+/-) home sites. Prices typically range from $200s – $400s.
Around the Block
Neighbors are connected to one another by a series of walking trails and sidewalks. Other Berewick amenities include the pool with a separate kids splash zone, playground, volley ball courts and the Berewick pond where the series “Music by the Pond” is held in the summer. Charlotte Premium Outlets is adjacent to Berewick and the new Berewick town center will provide shopping and retail.
