At a Glance
Tega Cay is an incorporated township community situated on a large peninsula in Lake Wylie. The community gets its name from the Polynesian language: “Beautiful Peninsula”. Tega Cay has many outstanding community features and amenities. Multiple parks, ball fields, walking trails and a marina can be found in Tega Cay.
Tega Cay was originally developed in the 1970s and marketed as a semi-retirement community and weekend get-away destination for Charlotteans. At that time Tega Cay was comprised mostly of small bungalow style houses situated along the waterfront or overlooking the golf course. Tega Cay has since grown considerably. Housing options vary widely. Tega Cay’s close proximity to Charlotte, high quality of life and superb school district are all prized by local residents.
What We Love
Consistently ranked high on “Best of” lists, Tega Cay features an extensive network of activities for all interests. Strong sense of community with convenient shopping, dining and retail.
What We Don’t
There’s only one way in and one way out – Tega Cay Drive. The single ingress/egress may cause traffic delays and headaches during peak hours.
Something for everyone. Single Family, townhomes and condos. Waterfront, golf course and interior lots. Homes come in a variety of ages, prices and construction quality.
Around the Block
