At a Glance
The Sanctuary is perhaps the most exclusive of all Lake Wylie neighborhoods. Comprised of 1,300+ acres of prime real estate, The Sanctuary features less than 200 home sites. An amazing 80% of the community is preserved as natural area. The Sanctuary is bordered by seven miles of mostly uninterrupted Lake Wylie waterfront shoreline and boasts twenty miles of private nature trails. The neighborhood definitely lives up to its name.
Homes in The Sanctuary are among the finest custom construction in the greater Charlotte area. Residences are situated on heavily wooded, large acreage homesites ranging from 2 acres to over 10 acres.
The Camp, a 17 acre waterfront retreat, is the heart of the community and features swimming pools, tennis courts, a fitness center, kids room, covered pavilion, amphitheater, boat marina and more. An onsite activities director facilitates neighborhood events throughout the year.
What We Love
Simply beautiful. The homes are unparalleled in design, and the tranquil setting is without equal amongst Lake Wylie neighborhoods. The Sanctuary is near-flawless.
What We Don’t
Although the neighborhood promotes social activities the long, gated driveways and expansive acreage may be a turnoff for those looking for a cul-de-sac lifestyle. This is not a “cup of sugar” neighborhood.
The pinnacle of Lake Wylie real estate. Homes are consistently among the most expensive around the lake and regularly exceed the million dollar threshold.
Arguably the best location on Lake Wylie in terms of proximity to Uptown Charlotte, the airport and high-end Charlotte shopping/dining districts such as SouthPark and Ballantyne. The Sanctuary is on the northeast end of Lake Wylie off Shopton Road West and near the I-485 loop.
