At a Glance –
Bethel Elementary has served the Clover/Lake Wylie area over 80years. The first Bethel School was built in the summer of 1929. It was called Bethel Consolidated School. In 1959 the building was struck by lightning and burned down. Bethel was rebuilt and has been added to three times.
With such a long history of service it is notable that Bethel Elementary has only had 5 principals in its history. One hundred percent of the faculty is highly qualified as required by the federal and state law and most of the certified personnel have advanced degrees. There are also eight National Board certified teachers employed at Bethel. Professional development is ongoing as many teachers take advantage of the opportunities given for professional self improvement.
Bethel Elementary is very proud to be the recipient of the Palmetto Gold Award. The criteria for winning this award is based on the absolute and improvement ratings assigned on the yearly report cards. The report card ratings are determined by PASS (Palmetto Assessment of State Standards Test) scores for our school. This distinguished honor is reflective of the exceptional work of the faculty, as well as the students.
