Palisades Park Elementary was opened in fall of 2014 to service the rapidly growing Steele Creek region of Southwest Charlotte. Palisades Park Elementary is considered a partial Magnet School. While serving many of the surrounding neighborhoods, the school also leaves 25seats per grade level open to students who are not physically located in the school’s attendance zone.
Palisades Park Elementary is a STEM school (Science Technology Engineering Math). Emphasis is placed on integrating the Engineering Design Process. Research skills are integrated into the academic programs with opportunities to interact with working scientists. A number of Palisades Park Elementary teachers are also specially trained for science, technology, engineering and mathematics studies.

As of the 2015/2016 school year, Palisades Park Elementary earned a NC school report card grade “B”. A large majority of students achieved Grade Level Proficiency (3rd, 4th, 5th) in Reading, Math and Science composites.
